GUT INTELLIGENCE
* DECEMBER 11TH-14TH 2025 *
IN PERSON OR ONLINE
WITH MICHAEL KERN B.C.S.T., D.O., A.B.D., N.D.
The gut brain (enteric nervous system) consists of over 100 million neurons and operates autonomously from the brain. It affects bodily functions far beyond digestion, influences our mental state and plays a key role in inflammation, immunity and many diseases. We will explore the embryology and function of the gut tube, its connections with the nervous system, the significant role of the vagus nerve and how our gut feelings underpin the social nervous system and neural states. We will apply knowledge about these topics in the context of Health and Primary Respiration.
This advanced seminar for Craniosacral practitioners can be attended in London or online. Online participants are able to participate in all practice sessions, and receive full support. Video recordings will be available for review.
Topics include:
The gut brain
Embryological unfoldment of the gut tube
The small intestine and large intestine
Tuning into the abdomen
The stomach, liver, gall bladder and pancreas
The nerve plexi within the walls of the intestine
The role of the mesenteries
Abdominal sympathetic ganglia
The gut microbiome and its significance
Umbilical dynamics and birth ignition
Portals into the vagus nerve; an information super highway
Polyvagal skills to integrate the gut and brain
Interoception and the brain
Developing our gut instincts and subtle senses.
