Creative Embodiment: New Ways to Access Primary Respiration and The Long Tide

This seminar will explore key features of the human organism: pulsation, information and feedback loops between physiological systems, boundary and membrane phenomena, embryological germ layers, resonance and attunement. It provides a new doorway to health that elegantly sits alongside orientations used in Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST) and that can be easily incorporated into hands-on practice.

According to Stanley Keleman (Formative Psychology), “The deepest pulsations of the body take us back to an undifferentiated tide which is our true homeland. The form of our present life, our differentiation, is the necessary pole to that” …. “Every act, when taken through the Bodying Practice, can lead us to the deep pulse.” The formative work explored in this seminar can help people move from their stories of loss, pain, crisis, trauma, or of their everyday dilemmas and challenges, into direct connection with the deeper tides. Using skillful listening, tracking and attunement, practitioners can move between the Long Tide and the differentiated acts and roles of our everyday lives. The body tells its story in many ways, in which action, behavior and gesture become part of a larger trajectory of a person’s life direction. This approach can be called ‘Formative Storytelling’, in which the therapist pays particular attention to the enactment of a client’s story. As a result, the organizing principles that form and regulate the body can be ever more present and accessible in our daily encounters with the world.

This 3-day seminar will provide the following skills:

• An enhanced ability of body reading that includes an appreciation for the three embryological germs layers; ectoderm, mesoderm and endoderm, and their roles in influencing a person’s thinking and behaviour.
• An appreciation of the intimate relationship of tides and energy fields, nervous system, motor activity and metabolic response in every action that we take.
• A formative way of listening to client’s stories that can quickly deepen their access to the mid-tide and long tide during a session.
• A way of using precise verbal expression to deepen the experiential process.
• A formative exploration of the body’s layering, transition phases and state changes as we move through a therapeutic process.
