2011 BREATH OF LIFE CONFERENCE
DVD RECORDINGS OF THE 2011 BREATH OF LIFE CONFERENCE ARE NOW AVAILABLE
The sixth landmark Breath of Life Conference featured internationally acclaimed speakers from Craniosacral Therapy and allied fields. The Conference explored key factors that organise how we function, beyond just the physical form, providing a forum and meeting place for exchanging ideas at the cutting edge of holistic health. Each speaker gave an individual presentation and a panel discussion completed the weekend.
The Conference was held in London on 28th – 29th May 2011 and featured the following presentations:
- Franklyn Sills: “Healing Trauma: the Psycho-neurology of Stress, Mindfulness and Cranial Skills”. Craniosacral therapist, psychotherapist, pioneer of biodynamic craniosacral therapy and author of Craniosacral Biodynamics Vols. 1 & 2 and The Polarity Process.
- Nicholas Handoll: “Energy Osteopathy”. Osteopath, co-founder of the Sutherland Cranial College UK, international teacher on osteopathic trainings and author of Osteopathy: Your Questions Answered and The Anatomy of Potency.
- Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen: “Embodying Cellular Consciousness”. International teacher and developer of Body-Mind Centering, and author of Sensing, Feeling and Action.
- Ray Castellino: “The Breath of Life in Birth and Attachment”. Qualified as a chiropractor, craniosacral therapist and polarity therapist, is an eminent teacher of prenatal and birth therapy, clinical director of BEBA (a non-profit research clinic) and faculty member of the Santa Barbara Graduate Institute which offers masters and doctorates in both pre- and peri-natal psychology and somatic psychology.
- Dr. James Oschman: “From Quark to Quasar: the Natural Energy Systems Within and Around Us and their Therapeutic Significance”. Biologist, physicist, world authority on energy and complementary medicine and author of Energy Medicine: The Scientific Basis and Energy Medicine in Therapeutics and Human Performance.
- Susan Turner: “Digging On…..There Are Always More Potatoes: Stillness, Motion and the Spaces Between”. Osteopath with a background in Transpersonal Psychology and dream work. She taught at the European School of Osteopathy for 21 years where she co-founded and directed the Undergraduate Children´s Clinic, and since 1985, has taught at postgraduate level internationally, involved especially with the ongoing development of the Sutherland Cranial College.
- Frederick Leboyer: “Birth Without Violence” film followed by questions and answers. Pioneer of the natural childbirth movement who also brought the practice of baby massage to the west, and author of Birth Without Violence, Loving Hands, The Art of Giving Birth and The Art of Breathing.
- Peter Levine: “In An Unspoken Voice: How the Body Releases Trauma and Restores Goodness”. Pioneer of trauma therapy, founder of the Foundation for Human Enrichment, developer of ‘Somatic-Experiencing’ and author of the best selling book Waking the Tiger, Trauma Through a Child’s Eyes, Healing Trauma and In an Unspoken Voice.
