Welcome
About The Craniosacral Therapy Educational Trust
The Craniosacral Therapy Educational Trust was founded by Michael Kern and Franklyn Sills in 1989, and is established as a school of excellence offering in-depth courses in a clear and accessible way.
The training emphasises the development of practical skills and provides a great foundation to practice Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy in a professional capacity. There is an emphasis to work in cooperation with the underlying forces that govern our health that involves taking a whole person and gentle non-directive approach to treatment. It honours the foundations of BCST as developed by Dr William Sutherland, Dr Rollin Becker, Franklyn Sills and Dr James Jealous, and incorporates developments in the fields of trauma, embryology, fascial research and neurobiology. It is taught in a very supportive and creative environment, and participants can gain clinical experience during the latter stages of the training at our unique Low-Cost Clinic in London.
We have trained thousands of students as well as many other teachers in this field. Our course director, Michael Kern, is also author of the visionary book ‘Wisdom In The Body – The Craniosacral Approach To Essential Health’, which is the first book to be published about Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy, and is now in its third edition and translated into twelve languages.
Successful completion of the course leads to a professional diploma in Craniosacral Therapy and all graduates are awarded the designated letters BCST (Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapist). The BCST award comes from the Trust as part of its membership of the International Affiliation of Biodynamic Trainings. Graduates will be entered onto the register of the International Affiliation of Biodynamic Trainings.
CTET is fully accredited by the Complementary Medicine Association (CMA) and graduates are also eligible to join the International Cranial Association (ICrA), Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) and many other international Craniosacral practitioner associations. CMA is a well-established professional body that maintains standards in the UK and protects both Craniosacral Therapy practitioners and their clients, and CNHC is a regulator for complementary healthcare practitioners set up with government support, setting standards for practitioners to meet.
The Trust also offers:
- a comprehensive programme of continuing professional development courses with leading teachers of Craniosacral Therapy and allied fields.
- regular ‘taster’ introductory weekends in Craniosacral Therapy.
- an interactive and experiential Living Anatomy Course.
- a teaching clinic in London providing low cost Craniosacral Therapy treatments.

Upcoming Events
and Training

We are happy to offer an accredited Craniosacral Therapy Practitioner Training starting in Spring 2025. The training consists of 4-5 day seminars at approximately two-monthly intervals, providing 48 days of classroom attendance. Those who are unable to attend in person can participate in the seminars online during the first year and join the class in person from the 5th seminar. All participants will take part in the practice sessions, and receive full support and feedback.
This foundation day will help deepen our understanding of the human body from a holistic and experiential perspective. It provides a taster for a full Living Anatomy course starting in July, which is ideally suited to Craniosacral Therapists, holistic and movement practitioners, or anyone interested in learning about the human body in an embodied way. Open to all!
From conception onwards we live in entanglement, which can be an experience of great intimacy and joy, or of difficulties, challenges and complications. This seminar will use various therapeutic approaches to clarify entanglements and support dis-entangling and re-forming. Open to all somatic practitioners.
