ORGAN DYNAMICS - THE THORACIC, ABDOMINAL AND PELVIC CAVITIES

This five-day course will fill in many gaps from foundation trainings by familiarising the practitioner with the motility and mobility of the body viscera. Work is geared to re-establish the original intention of cells and tissues via an appreciation of the Breath of Life, its midline dynamics and embryological organising forces. All practical approaches are derived from a craniosacral biodynamic approach to work in the field.

Areas explored will include:

  • the embryological development, motility and mobility of each organ
  • the role of stillness and states of balance in re-establishing the original intention of health; our embryological blueprint
  • the heart, lungs, stomach, liver, gall bladder, pancreas, spleen, kidneys, small intestine, large intestine, ovaries, prostate, uterus and bladder
  • the motility of the organs and their related connective tissues
  • endodermal derivatives and the formation of the gut tube
  • heart ignition and the heart as a natural fulcrum
  • transitional physiology between umbilical breathing and lung breathing at birth - the significance of the first breath
  • the relational/horizontal midline at the umbilicus
  • the motility of the organs, potency and fluid dynamics
  • facilitated segments and organ dynamics; somatovisceral/viscerosomatic reflexes
  • the psycho-emotional relationships of the organs.

Venue and Times:

Skylight Centre, 9-15 Elthorne Road, London N19 4AJ. Nearest tube: Archway. Times from 10am - 6pm on the first day, 9.30am - 6pm on subsequent days, finishing at 5pm on the last day.

Cost:

£370 if deposit received before December 16th 2008, or £395 if received after this date. Bookings confirmed by sending a non-refundable deposit of £150. The remainder of the fee is due two weeks before the start of the course. Cheques payable to: CTET.

Course Tutor:

Michael Kern is a Craniosacral Therapist, Osteopath and Naturopath with a practice in London. He has been teaching Craniosacral Therapy since 1987 and is a leading international exponent of the biodynamic approach, regularly running courses in Italy, Switzerland, Russia and Spain. He is co-founder of the Craniosacral Therapy Educational Trust, a senior tutor for the College of Osteopaths, the International Cranial Association, the Centre for Professional Development in Osteopathy and the University of Westminster. He is also author of the visionary book 'Wisdom In The Body - The Craniosacral Approach To Essential Health', now available in eight languages.
