This three-day course will involve a deep exploration of the Central Nervous System (CNS) from a practical perspective of working with clinical conditions. We will look at the very beginnings of life at conception from a viewpoint of potency and light. From here, we will explore the biodynamic unfolding of the CNS, learning to feel remnant embryo-dynamic forces and their importance in treatment processes. We will learn the embryo’s perfect unfolding and factors affecting normal development, including genetic, epigenetic and micro-environmental factors that can have a teratogenic affect, from the gross to the subtle. From this viewpoint, we will go on to explore post-partum neurodevelopment, motor nervous system milestones and primitive reflexes. This workshop is open to Craniosacral Therapists and Cranial Osteopaths.

Online participants will be sent a Zoom link and a schedule of timings, so that they can participate in the practical sessions with volunteer clients at home at the same time as participants attending in-person.

Topics explored will also include:

  • neurodevelopmental disorders including the management of specific conditions such as sensory processing disorders, developmental dyspraxias, global and specific developmental delays, learning difficulties and the development of midline.
  • vascular episodes both pre- and peri-natally.
  • the process and management of cerebral palsy.
  • the development of memory formation and retention throughout life with a view to supporting dementias.
  • neurodevelopment in relation to mood, conductive and behavioural issues, and autism.
  • the radical changes in the adolescent brain and how to support them.
